I'm not really.

But you can position your body 45 degrees to the subject, get the support hand forward on the barrel of the lens to get to the zoom ring and the support elbow/tricep will be closer to the center of your torso.

Thanks for the response.

As far as the ?p=611, it's not an 'issue' for me. I prefer to use this permalink format. It helps to keep URLs short (link directly to post number using the post 'p' variable).

I may reconsider using more human readable permalinks, or look into using multiple permalink structures.

My wife and I are Canon people. We both shoot 50D's and I like the 70-200 2.8. It balances well in my hand but I cannot imagine hanging it off of me anywhere. I either have it in my hand or in a sling style bag. Nothing can bump it of knock it away.

By the way, your post ends in /?p=611. Thousands of blog owners have this issue. I had that same problem with my blog site and when I found a solution I created a simple video tutorial on how to fix that. It would make your posts much easier to find it the post title was in the URL. You can go to http://powerlinetraining.com/wordpress-link-structure to see the video. Hope this helps.

sounds good, but my question is this: how are you manipulating the zoom/focus rings with your non-shutter hand gripping the mount like that?

Interesting technique...thanks.
BTW, get the AB remote power control for the TT when they're available. I have the JrX Studios and being able to remotely control power makes shoots go a lot faster :-)

Interesting review. I can see good things about the front mount, but the side mount is baffling. A big bag on your hip has its own variety of PITA, but can be sort of adjusted/moved around on the fly, but that thing would do murders if you were trying to walk through a scrubby/ heavily wooded area.

I don't really "get" the holster. I'm a fan of all things that go bang, but you couldn't actually bring a sidearm (or any other sort) if you were embedding. I suppose it could be an open carry piece to ward of goblins for shoots in bad areas.

I suppose for long-range hiking / backpacking it just becomes a matter of how much you can / want to hump. Have you tried this with any sort of ruck/hiking bag?

I was a member of IF&G since the late 80's.
I found it to be a fine place to shoot and one I deeply miss.
The rates..first 35 and later 50 bucks a year were very very reasonable and the range masters, I knew at least 4 well, were kind and helpful.

Yeah..some of the people were "characters" but what rifle person is not?

The folks running the range gave yeoman even heroic service in the fight to keep the range open...and No ..I was not an officer of the club ..just a guy who went there to shoot old mil-sups and talk about guns and history.

If IF&G does re open, I will be a happy fella,,I would pay with a smile 200 bucks a year to see it back.
