Range Vlog #346 – 2025-12-13

  • Date: 13 December 2025
  • Range: West End Gun Club (Meyers Canyon, CA)

Thanks to California passing a new law that impacts the ability to acquire a firearm barrel, I splurged on purchasing barrels the past few weeks. One of the new barrels I picked up is a KIDD 20″ Stainless Steel Match barrel for the 10/22, which now makes my 10/22 a full KIDD barreled action.

I went to the range to re-zero / re-sight in the rifle with the new barrel, to function test and break in the barrel, and to get some initial ammunition accuracy data.

Another new barrel I picked up is in the form of a Noveske DM slide for the Glock 19 Gen 4. I have a couple of Glock 19 Gen 4 pistols that I was able to acquired over 10 years ago when there was still a way to get them in California (Glock Gen 4 generally was never on approved for sale in CA other than with a very few exemptions). I wanted to get an optic on one and so I decided to get a slide so I did not have to mill my factory slide. I decided to pick up the Noveske DM slide which comes with a barrel and uses a unique / proprietary method of mounting multiple types of optics.

Thus, I also used this range session to break-in the slide/barrel and sight in the Holosun 509T Green Dot that I also recently acquired, specifically for this setup.
