I trekked to the range on a Tuesday morning to squeeze in a session to dial in a Vortex Optics Razor HD LHT 4.5-22×50 FFP XLR-2 MRAD scope that I installed on my Aero Solus in its current form (20″ .308 Winchester barrel). This scope is actually a refurb that I picked up from AA Optics for a good price. I wanted to try out the Razor HD LHT after hearing good things about it. I also wanted a less heavy scope for the Aero Solus in its current form.
I also took time in this session to test fire the Barnes 7mm 160gr LRX. I tried the 168gr LRX only to find that it did not shoot well in my rifle and that the 168gr LRX is not an ideal bullet for the 7mm PRC, as the 168gr LRX was designed with the traditional 7mm cartridges in mind (e.g., 7mm Remington Magnum). The 160gr LRX is a longer bullet with more of a secant ogive which makes it more suitable for the 7mm PRC where the max COL is 3.340″ (compared to 7mm Rem Mag at 3.290″).
