CG Jackson trigger and R5 status

posted in: Gear, Shooting 0

I received my CG Jackson 2-stage trigger from Sinclair yesterday afternoon.

This trigger is designed by Robert Chombart, and has attained an excellent reputation Internationally for the past few years. The only reason why we haven’t seen it here Stateside is because it was too expensive to export (Made in the UK). Thankfully, the design was licensed to a gunsmith Stateside, and these triggers are now being made on US soil through X-Treme Shooting Products.

This trigger is going on my R5 rifle, which just so happens to be in the process of getting built. Doan Trevor has my Remington 700 action and is barreling it. Gary Eliseo is making (or already has it made) my R5 kit. I have an order for a Right Sight sent off. All I need to do is order a Phoenix Precision rear sight from Creedmoor Sports and the rifle will be ready to go.

I’ve got bullets (Sierra .243/6mm 107 Match Kings) and powder (Hodgdon Varget) on order. I have a limited supply of CCI BR4 primers on hand. I just need to get brass from Bruno Shooters Supply and I will be ready to make the ammo for it (6mmBR, of course).
