Performance enhancing drugs for shooting?

posted in: Rant, Shooting 0

An Olympic shooter was reportedly banned by the IOC due to failing drug testing, and subsequently stripped of a Silver medal. Apparently, the shooter in question tested positive for propanolol, which apparently prevents trembling.

What I never realized up until I read that article is that there are drugs to assist performance in shooting competitions.

It makes me wonder if any High Power Rifle competitors take substances to calm nerves and increase those standing scores.

Time to do drug testing after every High Power match? Maybe the CMP and NRA will have to think about enforcing mandatory drug testing for the top finishers at Nationals.
