While it was official last Tuesday, November 13, and my boss was already kept in the loop of my possible departure, I made a formal announcement to our department this afternoon.
I am leaving my position as Technical Consultant of Student Computing Services, under the Computing & Communications (C&C) organization of the University of California, Riverside and taking another position within C&C as the Infrastructure Security Analyst in the Computer Infrastructure and Security group.
Although I do have a new job position, it won’t be vacating my current job immediately. I’ll still be fulfilling my current job duties while assuming new ones as part of the new position until we can hire a new person to take my place. That could take more than a few weeks, so it will be a gradual transition.
