What is it with the state of ringtones for mobile phones today? I prefer a simple ringtone. I don’t want to play a clip of a song whenever someone tries to call me. Unfortunately, the iPhone has very few usable, simple, polyphonic-type ringtones included.
For the amount of R&D and marketing put into the iPhone, you figure Apple could at least give you more than a couple decent bundled ringtones.
Rather than use iTunes to buy a song and then pay another fee on top of that to use a piece of the song as a syncable ringtone with my iPhone, I’m forced to scour the Internet for some polyphonic-type ringtone, or use Guitarband to create a ringtone from a MP3 (created from one of my own CDs, of course).
I could probably just convert the ’24’ CTU ringtone MP3 I have.
It’s irritating how I may have to use a music clip as a ringtone.
Any ideas?
I was thinking a clip of the guitar solo / final chorus from Purple Rain (Prince owns).
